Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

Many of Berne's biggest festivals are held during the summer months, when the climate is likely to be at its best. Don't overlook the chance of rain though, since rainy weather in the summer has been known to add a short-lived dampener to the day.

Late summers can stretch well into October, although by this time, the nights are becoming noticeably longer and colder. Christmas celebrations brighten up even the harshest of Decembers, while the Berne Carnival in February is yet another winter highlight to look out for.
